Expand your career choices with studies in linguistics.

Many Gallaudet students majoring in interpretation, American Sign Language and other fields complement their studies with a minor in linguistics. Or you could create a self-directed major related to linguistics. Courses provide an excellent foundation for careers and graduate study in interpreting, deaf education, research and more. Learn more here about our alumni.

In our Linguistic Research Experience course, you will be able to work individually or in a small group with our talented faculty, who conduct research throughout the world.

Linguistics students have traveled to Southeast Asia, Guam and other locations for study and service internships.
